Between 27th March and 9th April, Welham Girls’ School buzzed with energy as students immersed themselves in the STRIKE Defend Programme, a specially curated self-defense programme. The girls learnt various self-defense stances and movements, defense against chokes, punches, grabs and common street attacks. Apart from the techniques, the programme also honed the situational awareness and vocal skills of the students and imbued in them the importance of being physically and mentally fit. Following intense competition, seven teams excelled as top performers within their respective groups. At the end of the programme, students gained the confidence that they were better equipped to face any threat, anytime, anywhere. Here’s to more girl power!
