That’s a green victory! Three students - Navya Verma, Manini Yadav, Anjanee Sodhi - and teacher mentor Ms. Vanshree Scott represented Welham Girls’ School at the prestigious Green Your School grant 2023-2024. The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) is a part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) which organises pan India Green Your School Program each year for which a Team of three students and a teacher mentor are invited to prepare a proposal of 10 Green Ideas for implementation in their respective schools. Each year around 24,000+ schools are invited to participate and are encouraged to develop sustainable ideas which can improve and convert the existing school into a green school that helps reduce carbon footprint. Team Welham was one of the top 5 runner up schools across India to have won the grant. They have won a sum of Rs. 1.5 lakhs/- which will be used to implement their green ideas in school this year.
