Ms. Vanshree Scott, Teacher of EVS, was invited as the opening speaker at the Green Your School Programme 2024 Webinar Series Part VIII on 8th October. She shared a presentation on the 10 sustainability projects proposals being undertaken at Welham Girls’ School which include a Renewable Energy Gym, Mosquito Repellent plants, Upcycling to give clothes a conscience, a Pollinator Garden, Aquaponics, usage of Radiant Barriers to make buildings energy efficient, Paper Recycling, Leaf-shredding and Vermicomposting, setting up of a Books and Stationary inventory and Sewage Treatment Plant. Welham Girls’ School was among the top five runner-up schools across India to win the prestigious Green Your School grant 2023-2024. The school team had won the IGBC grant of 1.5 lakhs/- which is currently being used to implement proposed green ideas in school.
