With the aim of facilitating conversations on mental health among adolescents, WGS organised 'Jazbaat' - a two-day national symposium on August 23-24, 2024. A total of eight schools from Dehradun and across India such as Mayo Girls’ School, Mayo Boys’ School, The Daly College, The Doon School, Welham Boys' School were invited to participate in this event. The event comprised of a number of creative events, competitions, panel discussions, counselling sessions, and talks by eminent educationists and psychologist. Dr. Amir Ullah Khan, Health Economist; Mrs Rekha Krishnan, Principal, Vasant Valley School; Dr Shelja Sen, a narrative therapist, writer, co-founder of Children First; and Ms Karni Panwar, consultant clinical psychologist attended the plenary session where they threw light on a number of pertinent issues that the majority of the youth of today is facing. By organising events such as these, Welham Girls’ aims to encourage open discussions and help remove the stigma on mental health among the youth of today.
