On the crisp winter morning of the 26th, the students and staff of WGS gathered in the lawns of Nasreen to unfurl the Indian flag and celebrate the 75th Republic Day. The celebrations then moved to the Shanti Varma auditorium where the school choir sang patriotic songs and the sitar student performed a beautiful rendition of ‘Hum sab bhartiya hain’. Two students shared their views on what a free, independent India means to them. The Vice Principal, Mrs Rajshree Ojha, in her address, shared important anecdotes on how the Constitution of India came in to being. She also addressed the students and urged them to build character which will then help build the nation’s character. The celebrations concluded with the entire school enjoying ladoos!
