Drumrolls please! Welham Girls’ School is the recipient of World Leading Schools’ Association’s (WLSA) Cross Cultural Leadership Programme (CCLP) ‘School of the Year Award’. Not just these, the 13 students who participated in the programme have received the highest of honours awarded by WLSA. In the words of Owen Moelwyn-Hughes (WLSA’s Director of Global Student Affairs), “Notably, Welham Girls’ School stands as the only institution where all participants submitted projects, and their quality was consistently excellent.” Avika Mantri, Kwiash Aggarwal, Keya Aggarwal and Ishaani Bhatia have been awarded the highest accolade – Distinctions. welham bagged 4 out of the total 5 distinctions that were awarded. Moelwyn-Hughes further noted, “Throughout the online CCLP events, your students have displayed impressive engagement and articulated their perspectives with informed insight, vigour, and clarity. Your student’s strong presence in the highly Commended category further underscores their exceptional performance.”
The CCLP Course and the Global Students Conference together have included participation from schools such as Groton (US); Eton and Marlborough (UK); WBHS, WGHS and St Benedict (RSA), and WSA (China). “Your students’ intellectual prowess, well-prepared projects, and meaningful engagement with CCLP’s themes are truly commendable,” he added. The culmination of the CCLP course includes the Capstone Project, a written assignment that allows students to delve deeper into CCLP topics and showcase their academic initiative and critical thinking skills. Your students have truly stood out in this regard.
