As part of the Eco-Tadpole- Zero Waste Campus Initiative, a group of students of grade 8 and 10 participated in a two-day workshop on Mushroom Cultivation. In a first of its kind, students experimented cultivation of Mushrooms in waste Coconut shells procured from the kitchen as they engaged in a hands-on session following essential steps of mushroom farming such as preparing sterilized liquid, sterilizing the wheat husk substrate, spawning with mushroom spores, preparing mushroom bags and incubating the bags in a dark room. This interactive approach allowed students to gain valuable hands-on experience in mushroom cultivation.
