The girls’ in Blue were the heroes of the DJBB! Welham Girls’ School hosted the 4th Diamond Jubilee Invitational Basketball tournament for Girls’ from 2nd to 4th September, 2022. Six schools from across the country participated in the prestigious tournament, apart from two teams from Welham Girls’. The schools that participated were: Mayo College Girls’ School, Ajmer, Modern School, Barakhambha, Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, Pinegrove School, Solan, Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar, Unison World School, Dehradun. Welham Girls’ School – Blue and Welham Girls’ School – White. A total of 15 matches were played over three days on league cum knock out basis. Ninety-four players from 7 different schools participated in this event. Welham Girls’ Blue team won the tournament after a scintillating final match with MNSS, Rai, team! Sakshi from MNSS was adjudged the highest scorer with 18 points and Sohila Gill from WGS with 17 points. Col. Vikram Kadian, Commandant, RIMC, was the Chief Guest of the evening and he gave away the trophies, tokens & individual prizes to the players & officials.
