A group of 41 students along with three teachers visited the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun as a part of their ‘bagless day’ programme. Besides learning about the various courses and career opportunities available at the Institute, the girls explored the ‘Talking Trail’ on the campus. They spotted numerous butterflies and birds amidst the tall Sal trees and around a fresh water Lake; identified a ‘Benchmark’ on the campus and learnt about it’s application in ascertaining height above sea level. They were briefed about the co-dependency among plants and animals in the forest ecosystem as they noticed the numerous termite hills on the grounds. At the end of the tour, they enjoyed games specially organised by the resident faculty.
