Two students of the Downe House, UK, Astrid and Georgina, spent almost two weeks at Welham Girls’ School as part of the student exchange between the two schools. The duo
spent their time attending academic classes, music and dance sessions, participating in cooking classes and travelling to nearby places. Astrid and Georgina tried their hand at classical dance forms - folk dance and Bharatnatyam – as well as tabla, sitar, drums and guitar. During their stay in school, they also played basketball, tennis, hockey and table tennis. They enjoyed day outings to Mussoorie and Rishikesh and key tourist attractions in Dehradun. The food remained a highlight in all these travel expeditions as they relished Indian cuisines and also had fun shopping for souvenirs to take back home for their loved ones! The girls immersed themselves fully and experienced community living at its best in the dorms and shared a wonderful bond with our girls. Their parting words of the trip being “an unforgettable one” beautifully captures their sentiments!
