While summer breaks for most students are meant as a time to unwind and relax, there are some who use the time to make a difference to the society. Pavit Sodhi of Class XI used her years of Kathak training to help raise funds in her home town of Jalandhar. She performed a Kathak dance recital on 14th July to help raise funds for Cervical Cancer vaccination for young girls of economically-weaker families. She collaborated with Phulkari Women of Jalandhar and CAPED INDIA who are running the Conquer Cancer Program related to Cervical Cancer Awareness, Screening and Prevention. Pavit was able to raise a generous donation of Rs. 1,06,000/-. She also runs her blog “sage_trance” which works towards raising funds for Cervical Cancer and is currently working for a project “sHE-Thestrongerhe”, a platform that helps needy women to sell products, thereby empowering them. You make us proud Pavit!
