SPORTS OVERVIEW
Some of life’s greatest lessons are learnt on the games field. At Welham, we believe that sports play a crucial role in its physical and emotional development of children. It not only gives students an outlet for channelizing their energy in a positive way but also helps them in dealing with their emotions.
Physical Education is an integral component of the daily school routine at Welham Girls’ School. All students are expected to play sports regularly. The school offers Basketball, Athletics, Badminton, Swimming, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Hockey, Karate, Aerobics and Shooting as sports activities to the students. Each discipline is given equal impetus and is played with great enthusiasm under the guidance of specialised coaches. Our School teams regularly participate in District, State, National and International-level tournaments and championships and bring back laurels.
The Sports Day is an annual event of importance, generating great excitement as a culmination of a year-long Inter-House sports competitions.

The whole school spends at least 30 minutes in the morning doing PT/ Sports and the teams train for 60 minutes. In the evening, 90 minutes are spent in sports training.
Yes, the students are selected purely on merit and get an opportunity to play at the IPSC, CISCE and SGFI level.
We have a state-of-the-art Shooting, Table Tennis, Swimming pool, Tennis and Basketball facilities on campus.
