The Moon and The Polaris
By Laksita Mittal, SC-C Tuesday, Mar 25, 2025
O mighty moon, vast and grand,
ruler of tides, sculptor of sand,
your silver face commands the sea,
yet your heart beats only for me.
I, Polaris, steadfast light,
burn with longing every night,
a single flame in endless skies,
held aloft by love’s sunrise.
You rise, you fall, you dance, you wane,
chasing dawn, lost in its reign.
But when the world is cloaked in dark,
you turn to me, your guiding spark.
Though morning steals you from my sight,
I wait, unwavering, burning bright.
No storm, no time, no endless spin
can dim the love that dwells within.
For we are carved from cosmic fire,
stars and orbits, fate’s desire.
Eternal as the sky’s embrace,
forever lost, forever traced.
So let the heavens shift and turn,
let dying suns and new stars burn,
I shine for you, you glow for me,
our love, the law of gravity.
