In the Wake of Welham
By Zeel Shah, BI- A & Sofiya Sadgi BI-A Tuesday, Mar 25, 2025
She was a river who was just “born”
She did not want to drown in the estuary
She did not want to cave to the ocean
She did not know anything but her will and want propelled her faster into the enigma.
She had fears in her heart and questions in her mind
She did not comprehend that it was not about losing herself; it was about growing larger and becoming a part of something bigger.
A home. Our home
Welham
After she came, she wished she had never arrived but also wished she had never had to leave.
Away from all amenities, she found comfort
Away from her family, she found a community
Away from everything she found everything
Away from home, she found a home
Welham
Before she arrived, she was lost in abysm
After becoming a Welhamite she uncovered her destination
Her anchor in the dark
Our anchor
Welham
