Printing the Cycle of Life
By Vanshika Gupta Tuesday, Apr 25, 2023
This print, made using the Lino Cut technique, shows a fish in three different stages of its life. The first part portrays its birth in water (a new environment), leading to a fear of the unknown as the fish has to learn to survive on its own.
The flowers demonstrate its ability to bloom and flourish in its world once it has been familiarised with the environment.
As the fish grows older, its strength reduces, and it slowly thins, as shown in the third part of the fish.
Finally, when it reaches the stage of death, it releases its soul from the earthly vessel of its body and spreads open like the fins, showing its freedom.
