How to be productive 101 (Pandemic Edition)
By Tara Govil - PreSC A Wednesday, Feb 10, 2021
How many times have you looked out of your window only to see heavy, dark gray clouds lurking and threatening to rain down on your good mood? Well, after that comes the need to take online classes in the comfort of your warm bed, which eventually results in you sleeping through half your classes. At the end of the day, you’d have got almost nothing done, and have an enormous amount of guilt for the same. Let’s turn that frown upside down, shall we? Here are some tips and tricks to be productive 101, and its 100% teenager approved!
Firstly, do not go down the path of the never ending snooze button! Snoozing your alarm is the first red flag when you’re trying to productive. Try keeping your phone away from your reach before sleeping, so you’d have to get up to silence your annoying alarm. In the process, you’ll find yourself more awake than ever. Next, make your bed immediately so that the temptress , aka your bed and its welcoming blankets, don’t try to lure you in.
Next, you may want to stretch a bit before you hop into your shower. Not only is it extremely good for you, but it also feels relaxing. It might even help you grow a few inches! While you’re in the shower, try playing some cheerful music, it will leave you feeling like you just came back from a mini trip to Cloud nine! Some popular favorites are Electric Love by Borns, Take Care by Beach House and Yellow by Coldplay. In the shower, using fresh and fruity fragrances is my personal tip. It’s insane how just a spritz of perfume can make you feel so much better. Tired of your sugary cereal? No worries, here’s a trick that’s healthier and so much more fun! Try blending frozen strawberries and kiwis into a smoothie and sprinkling your cereal on top. Voilà! A home-made Acai bowl! Bon petite!
A good morning is the key to a good day, and we have officially unlocked the door to productiveness. For the next few hours, try sitting on a table for your online classes, it’ll help you pay more attention. In this cold weather, I know its hard, but try using an electric heating pad and a heater. It’ll work wonders!
If a quick cardio workout feels like too much work, try playing your favorite dance music and shake your stress off behind your bedroom’s closed door. It actually burns calories, and will make you feel lighter. I will not go into theory, but oxytocin has a way of itself.
Studying alone after what Welhamites are used to seems like a mammoth burden. To make things seem a bit more familiar, try asking your friends to join you in a group video call to study! With the dreaded exams just around the corner, you might want to start soon.
Finally, after a long day of homework and extra courses , try taking a relaxing bath before bed. Lighting a scented candle, and using scented lotion is a good path to better sleep. Make sure you aren’t on your screen an hour before bed, it’s the root cause for those terrible headaches. A good night is the beginning of a good day. Hope this helped!
